5/13/2004 10:02:02 AM

According to Forrester Research's May 5, 2004 State of Technology Adoption survey, 56% of the 322 North American software decision makers surveyed considered .NET as their primary development environment compared with 44% for J2EE.

However, these numbers vary by industry:

The report, which surveyed 878 IT decision makers at North American enterprises, says enterprises on average have 20 Web services in production or under development and at the same time continue to increase their spending on EAI. It also measured upgrade plans, mobile application deployment, enterprise application spending, and organic IT technology adoption.

A copy of the report is available as a pdf from MSDN.
