Windows NT Registry Guide
By Weiying Chen, Wayne Berry
B: This is the complete guide to the Windows NT Registry. It has both an explanation of the registry and a detailed guide on how to program it. Windows NT Registry Guide covers all the C++ APIs that effect the registry along with the Visual Basic commands.

An added bonus in the book is the explanation of how to program the Event Log and the Performance Monitor. Both of these monitoring interfaces are directly tied to the registry, and both are difficult to program. Until this explanation there was very little documentation available for programming the Event Log or the Performance monitor. There is a straightforward example to programming both in Windows NT Registry Guide.

The Windows NT Registry Guide also discusses the role of the register in ActiveX Controls and COM objects.

This book is the final word in the Windows NT Registry.
