| B: | When I installed the Big Tent Web server last Fall, and created our first IIS link to the Internet, this was the book I had by my side. It is comprehensive, exhaustive, and, well, huge. Microsoft Internet Information Server 2 Unleashed is one of those rare tomes that covers all the bases and covers them correctly. One of the sections, about Web page development, is a little gratuitous, but there is precious little filler here. Most Webmasters and system administrators will appreciate the references to technologies like TCP/IP and DHCP, for example, and will appreciate the introductions CGI, Java, VBScript and ISAPI. A reference rather than a how-to, this book is recommended for anyone starting an IIS system. |
