I am currently a Lead Internet Developer at Georgia-Pacific.
My responsibilities include:
- Leading intranet web site development projects.
- Consulting with other groups that are beginning their own intranet web site development. This frequently includes leading one or more design sessions to get them underway.
- Creating reusable web architectures, components, and web site templates to add to the G-P Intranet development toolbox. (For example: a newsletter publishing system, a database-driven calendar, a database-driven FAQ system, a server-side ActiveX object to send the results of a web form via email using MAPI, etc.)
- Defining corporate-wide Intranet look and feel standards.
- Performing needs-analysis and writing functional and technical requirements for new Intranet projects.
- Writing short- and long-run strategic plans for the use of internet technologies by Georgia-Pacific to more efficiently achieve its business objectives.
- Writing a strategic plan for the use of the Intranet as an application development environment and determining when it is preferred over G-P’s current client-server development environment.
- Writing a strategic plan to analyze the implication of the extranet on Georgia-Pacific’s business practices.
