Q: After running C2CONFIG.EXE and filling my event log file, my web server is not available. What is the problem?

A: The C2CONFIG utility ships with the NT Resource kit and is for setting the level of security on NT. One of the options with this is "halt on audit failures" when the log is full. This will cause the Web Server to stop. To get everything running again, you must do the following:

  1. Reboot the server and log into the NT system as an administrator.
  2. Clean out the event logs.
  3. Re-run the C2CONFIG utility and set the "halt on audit failures."
  4. Reboot the server.
