In my site SSL is enabled and i have to put a link like https:// of
course. I want to know if i use basesurl or pagesurl, does these functions

We have a client that we are setting up a site for.
This client wants to accept Mastercard, Visa, and Discover, AND their own
private card. How do we add this private card to site server's list of
accepted cards? From the documentation, we know that we can use
IPaymentOtherCardInstall interface and IPaymentCCTypeInstall interface. How
do we get to these interfaces to use them? #738 - 1998.12.17
Using the content management/publishing features of Site Server, we can
set it up to enable our users to publish to their relevant area's of our
intranet. We, like many organisations, use a directory structure where
images relating to a document are all stored in a subdirectory called
images.
Presently, it's possible to upload documents and the related images at once
but unfortunately these are then all dumped into the same directory.
Is it possible to somehow configure Site Server to stick all .gif and .jpg
into a images directory and if so how? Has anyone else done this - I'm sure
others have come across this before?
I've got a VI6 project and a web site that is managed by Membership
Authentication. When I map the site to the Membership Service, I can no
longer open files using my VI6 project. When I remove the membership
mapping, I am again able to open files. #735 - 1998.12.02
Do I have to use NT Challenge/Response when protecting the store
manager?
I would like to be able to use Basic Auth. since some users may be using
Netscape and we seem to have problems with NT C/R across our network (which
is another issue).
I want to alter the existing GUI for Site Server. I personally think it
bites. Obviously MS was more interested in functionality that
appearance. That is not a bad thing (at least it works - kind of). But I
want to make the user experience more appealing. So I want to basically
design a sleeker interface. How do I do it? #733 - 1998.12.02
I have a commerce site that is behind a proxy server Its internal URL is EVSSD, (which is the computer name) and the external URL is 'www.dev01.mysystems.com'.
The site configuration file, site.csc stores this URL and supplies the URL to subsequent links in navigating the store.
If I specify the URL formatting in Commerce Host Administration for my store as EVSSD, all the store links work only from inside the firewall. When someone who accesses the site from outside the firewall tries to follow a store link, the URL starts off with the internal name of the site (Instead of 'www.dev01.mystsems.com/store', one gets 'evssd/store'. Because the internal name EVSSD is not resolvable, the user gets an error.

How do I specify the URL formatting in Commerce Host Administration for my store so that all store links work as expectedregardless of whether a user accesses the site from inside or outside the proxy server?
My SiteServer search successfully catalogs Office 97 documents, but gives
errors for Office 95 documents.
Are there different filters for Office 95, or should the ones that work for
Office 97 also work for 95 and I am just missing something? #731 - 1998.12.02
We're trying to author some components in VC++6 and haven't
been able to get the ATL pipeline wizard to work? We had no problems authoring
with VC++5, however since upgrading to VC++6 we can't get the dam thing
to work. Any pointers would be appreciated. #728 - 1998.11.26
Got a question, when I try to delete an import from the import history
manager by selecting one of the imports, it asks me if I'm sure that i want
to delete the selected import. I say yes and it deletes all of them. Is
this a known bug? #727 - 1998.11.26
A week after my Site Sserver 3.0 site (with P&M) went live a I performed
a User import into analysis with no problems (there where only
several hundred users at this stage), but know after a month the import
fails (now there are propably several thousand users) and I get the
following:
Import Stopped - Your membership server is not configured properly to support
this export operation. Please contact the administrator of your
membership LDAP service to modify query settings appropriately. Suggested
settings would allow 'Max Result' to be unlimited and 'max Query Time'
should be 0 (unlimited).
I tried these setting with no better results. Also! Making these changes
caused a massive overhead on the server performance so I reset them
immediately. Does anyone know if there are any known issues in this area. #726 - 1998.11.26
We get this error off and on when trying to create the Commerce.AdServer
object:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01ad'
ActiveX component can't create object
//global.asa, line 41
And here's line 41:
Set Ad = Server.CreateObject("Commerce.AdServer")
As mentioned, it's only once and a while. Has anyone experienced this? I
have 4 others servers running ad server and I haven't seen this before. #720 - 1998.11.23
VerifyPassword method in the VerifyUsr class does not recognise the new
password set in the membership directory until about 5 minutes or so.
How do I fix it? #719 - 1998.11.23
I have a site that uses forms-based non-anonymous membership authentication. When trying to create a search catalog of type crawl, the catalog never builds due to being redirected to the 'formslogin' page.
I've entered what i think are appropriate accounts for admin access account: (NT admin using domain\Admin +passwd) content access account (I've used an SSAdministrator account, which is not an NT account, so I didn't use the DOMAIN qualifier.)
It never told me my password was incorrect, it just seems that search can't authenticate using forms-based authentication.
I've written a custom application for user administration on an LDAP membership
directory. Everything seems to work fine, but I've run into a problem with the
administrator account. When the admininistator tries to log in on my application, I get a
property not found when I attempt to get the admin's guid. I wrote an error
trap to catch it, create a GUID, and send it back to the Admininistartor's browser, but
that enerates an internal Site Server error. Has anyone seen this problem before or have any type of workaround? #715 - 1998.11.19
Does anyone know how to specify the application server in Rules Manager to
point to a membership directory besides the one on port 1002? Connecting to
the application server through Rules Manager only allows the content sources
of the Membership database on port 1002 to be displayed. #714 - 1998.11.19
We are trying to schedule automatic builds using the scheduler in Site Server 3.0.
The Catalogue build scheduler accepts scheduling information for all our catalogues (of which there are 4) but this information is not acted upon and no builds are automatically scheduled.
We just can't get this to run. Has anyone got this to work?? We are running IIS4, Site Server 3 SP1 and NT SP4 (it didn't work with SP3 either).
I want to know if anyone has some info on securing LDAP and P&M from
being publicly browsable.
I found that I could browse the general LDAP table on a development site,
and it brought up the issue of securing the datastore from being browsable
by registered or anonymous individuals.
LDAP//myserver:1003 or using it as a Directory Search Source for a people
search returns a search form and users can list members at will.
I'm researching where to buy Site Server, Commerce Ed. is everyone running the Eval, if you have bought it online, where did you purchase it? Also I'm guessing there's no limit to the number of stores that you can create, the client license just has to do with multiple users publishing content, please confirm. #709 - 1998.11.19
I am trying to programmatically create a OU and CNs under it. The
creation of OU succeeds but CN does not get created. I get an error on the
SetInfo for the CN. #708 - 1998.11.19
Currently, I understand you can only create one content store with one content type underneath it. This limits the number of subdirectories you can put files into. Most web sites have more than one level of subdirectories. Any solutions to this problem? #707 - 1998.11.19
I get the following error when running the Credit Card Validation
component in a pipeline. What does the error mean?

I installed the Adobe PDF iFilter and had success finding which files
contained my search criteria. The PDF files that I am searching are over a
Meg for the most part. The problem is that I still have to weed through
pages of content to find the information within the file that was included
in the search results. I wish there was a way to index the file and then go
to the specific point in the file where the results are located.
If anyone has any information on how to enhance search capabilities in PDF
files, I would appreciate it.
We get allot of "application restarting" messages when entering items in
the mall managers. Is there anything I can look at/fix to alleviate this
problem? #702 - 1998.11.09
I was having a problem with our purchase pipeline erroring when purchasing
and trying to edit via the web, but not with the pipeline editor (desktop).
It appears that if the server console is in a "log off" mode, the purchase
pipeline (and only purchase) fails! But, if I'm logged in (at the console)
as a user who has access to that purchase.pcf file, everything works great.
If I LOCK the workstation, it still works ok. It's only when no one is
logged in. Why is that? #701 - 1998.11.09
I have an evalution version of site server and would like to upgrade to a
purchased version (instead of re-installing and losing my current work). How
do I do this? #700 - 1998.11.09
I'm using the Content Replication Feature of Site Server.
I have a quick question in regards to security and network issues. When I setup my projects and routes to do hourly transfers, what TCP port does Site Server utilize to do the transfer? I need to open this up on my Firewall. #649 - 1998.09.10
