    Scripting Languages in ASP

    It is important to know the behaviour of an asp page when multiple scripting languages are used in server side scripting. In an ASP page employing Jscriptand VBscript, code in Jscript block is executed first then followed by code in asptags and vbscript block respectively.

    The following example makes the above concept clear:

    Create an ASP page called test.asp

    <script language = "vbscript" runat ="server">
    Response.write(" vbscriptblock <br>")
    </script>

    <% Response.write "Inside asp tag <br>" %>

    <script language = "jscript" runat = "server">
    Response.write("jscriptblock<br>")
    </script>

    Can you guess what the output will be?

    output of test.asp
    --------------------
    JscriptBlock

    Inside asp tag

    vbscriptblock

    From the above example it is clear that first the jscript block is executed followedby code in asp tag and vbscript block. Just a small fact that you as a developer should know about.
